Commvault® QiNetix™ 6.1 End-of-Life Notice

This bulletin is part of our ongoing effort to keep you informed of product and support changes. To that end, we are hereby notifying you that Commvault will cease support for its Commvault® QiNetix™ software suite version 6.1. See the table below for specific Product End-of-Life/End-of-Support Details.

We value you as a customer and appreciate your patronage. Product End-of-Life/End-of-Support for the QiNetix suite version 6.1 will allow us to continue to deliver the highest quality Commvault® Simpana® technology and support to meet your evolving requirements. The description of "Product End-of-Life/End-of-Support Details" follows. If you have questions about what releases are supported, please contact your Commvault sales representative.

Error CorrectionCommvault will continue to deliver maintenance patches for QiNetix 6.1 during this 6-month period beginning February 1, 2009 and ending August 1, 2009.

Extended Assistance Support (EAS)Commvault will provide telephone and electronic support, and fixes for known problems. For QiNetix 6.1, EAS will be provided until February 1, 2010. It does not provide error correction for new problems.
Please note that we will gladly honor contractual stipulations for the above that are outlined in your Commvault Licensing Agreement.

Customer Action — Commvault strongly recommends customers upgrade directly to version 8.0 of Simpana software in order to maintain the highest level of support, performance and reliability for their products and systems. Please contact your Commvault Account Manager or Commvault Professional Services Manager to review Commvault Services' early upgrade program and arrange for a Commvault-led Simpana upgrade.

Free Software Upgrade Kit for Commvault® Simpana® 8 — Customers with active maintenance agreements are eligible to upgrade to Simpana 8 via requests registered at the Maintenance Advantage eSupport site. Upgrades to Simpana 8 may be completed with Professional Services assistance or completed as a self-initiated upgrade. For additional information on Simpana 8 upgrades and procedures, please visit the eSupport site at the following location (current maintenance and active login account, required): https://ma.commvault.com/.

To sign up for Maintenance Advantage — If your company is currently under a maintenance agreement but does not have an active Maintenance Advantage account; please send an email to support@commvault.com and provide your Commcell ID along with your contact information and you will be notified via email of your login and password within 24-48 hours. Alternatively, you can contact Commvault Support via the Hotline numbers below. When calling, please have your CommCell ID and Product Version information available.
